The Police have prepared a new special plan to avoid meetings on the anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising.

As part of the police measures, public outdoor gatherings in which four or more people participate are prohibited throughout the country, from 6 am on Sunday, November 15 to 9 pm on Wednesday, November 18.

For offenders, subject to the application of other sanctions derived from current legislation, the following sanctions are provided:

– administrative fine 5,000 euros to legal persons and 3,000 euros to natural persons, who organize public meetings in the open air and

– administrative fine 300 euros to people who violate the prohibition by participating in public gatherings outdoors.

According to police sources, 4,000 policemen, prosecutors and the “Aiandes” (water-launching vehicles) will be on the streets on Tuesday, while drones and helicopters will watch from the air. The order to be given to the police will initially be to warn the protesters, asking them to disperse … in silence. However, in the event of non-compliance, the officers will call for the immediate deterrence of demonstrations and marches, extraditions and arrests.
