Today begins the implementation of the new measures announced a few days ago by the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Specifically from today at 6 in the morning, Traffic is prohibited from 12:30 pm to midnight until 5:00 am. while wearing a mask (mask everywhere) is mandatory in all indoor and outdoor areas.
The ban will apply to areas with risk level 3 (increased vigilance): Eastern Attica, Achaia, Boeotia, Northern Athens, Western Attica, Western Athens, Zakynthos, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Thira, Ioannina, Karditsa, Kea-Kythnos, Central Athens, Larissa, Athos, Lesbos, Lesbos, The Piraeus, Pella, Samos, Serres, Trikala.
As well as in areas with level 4 (Increased risk): Kastoria, Kozani.
In addition, from today, the retail and service companies of the regional units belonging to level 4, that is, in Kastoria and Kozani, will operate under the strict conditions of level 3.
The same will apply to hairdressing, manicure – pedicure and beauty salons services in the areas of level 4, which will function as in level 3.
OPAP agencies in the “red” areas will remain closed.
The new measures were published today in Government Gazette.
Among other things, the mandatory use of a mask is foreseen in all areas, regardless of the epidemiological level of each region.
Likewise, regardless of the epidemiological level, the mandatory use of the mask in all public services and private companies, by employees and the public, as well as the obligation to telework for at least 20% of employees.
The exceptions
Regarding the movement at night due to the prohibition of traffic from 12.30 pm to 5 am in the epidemiological surveillance areas “3” and “4”, the following are excluded:
- Journalists– Requires journalistic identification (as in spring close) and a circulation certificate from the employer
- Private employees (night work): circulation certificate from employer
- Public servers (working at night): driver’s license (apografi.gov.gr)
- Free-lancers (working at night): traffic certificate (in the Ergani information system)
