The Minister of Foreign Affairs held a new telephone conversation tonight on the situation in Smyrna and Samos Nikos Dendias and his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Tsavousoglu, at the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
According to a publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter, Messrs. Dendias and Tsavousolgou repeated the mutual offer of help if necessary. N. Dendias also thanked his Turkish counterpart for the call and agreed to keep in touch, as known in the same post.

Nikos Dendias had contacted by phone with his Turkish counterpart shortly after the great earthquake in the Aegean and expressed Greece’s readiness to assist in operations to free citizens from the rubble of Smyrna. “We support the cooperation between Greek Chancellor Nikos Dendias and Turkish Chancellor Mevlüt Tsavousoglu during this tragic event.” reported in a tweet from State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortega.
