Athens will react to the new illegal Navtex with a new protest in Ankara. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry claims that Nikos Dendias gave instructions for immediate protest to the Turkish side, in addition to informing allies and partners about ongoing Turkish provocative behavior. At the same time, it characterizes Turkey as a state that wants the destabilization of the region and the vertical increase in tension.
The announcement states in detail that “the issuance of a new illegal Navtex by the Turkish side, linking a maritime area within the Greek continental shelf south of Rhodes to carry out illegal seismic surveys, shows for the umpteenth time that Turkey, with its and its criminal behavior, completely ignores the fundamental rules of International Law.
