Turkey and Azerbaijan have denied Yerevan’s allegations that a Turkish F-16 fighter jet shot down an Armenian plane and killed its pilot. The Armenian Ministry of Defense announced today that the pilot was Detective Valery Danelin.
“They crashed into the mountain”
In Baku, an aide to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that two Armenian Su-25 fighter jets were shot down today when they crashed into a mountain, and accused Yerevan of lying that one of its planes had been shot down.
“The two planes crashed into a mountain and exploded and were destroyed. “This shows that the Armenian military leadership does not provide accurate information to its citizens and the public.”
