There is great concern in India after the new mysterious infection that has been detected in the city of Elurou and that so far has sent more than 500 people to the hospital, while one person has lost his life.

Doctors in India found traces of lead and nickel in blood samples taken from patients treated in Andhra Pradesh, according to officials who investigated the cases on Tuesday.

The patients reported a number of symptoms including seizures, loss of consciousness, and nausea. The first results of a study by a team from the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) showed high concentrations of lead and nickel particles in the blood of patients.

At the same time, no traces of lead and nickel were detected in the water samples analyzed by the AIIMS in Delhi, and it does not appear that polluted air may be responsible for this strange disease.

According to CNN, of the 505 people admitted to the hospital, 300 have been discharged. It should be noted that the man who lost his life was only 45 years old, without having any other disease, among the patients there are 70 children.
