A great form of Greek banks that so few loved, “abandoned” at the age of 85.
Greek football is in mourning at the age of 85 and after suffering from various health problems in recent years, Antonis Georgiadis passed away.
The deceased was a footballer of the great Doxa Drama in the 50s and at the age of 31 he began the great coaching career that followed.
As a coach he assumed the technical direction of several A ‘Ethniki clubs, with the main stations AEK (1984-85) and Olympiakos (1985-86, 1993).
The most important period of his coaching career was the period 1989-1992, when he was Greece’s federal coach in a total of 30 games with a record of 11 wins, 9 draws and 10 losses.
On March 12, 1996, Antonis Georgiadis, then the coach of Paniliakos, was the victim of a serious car accident, from which he suffered a serious head injury, as well as multiple injuries to the rest of his body.
This very serious injury kept Georgiadis in the hospital for four months, two of them in the Intensive Care Unit, while he ended his coaching career after inheriting permanent health problems.
