Monday’s new measures across Greece sweep cases in Attica

[ad_1]

Big changes will take place starting Monday with the map uploaded to covid19.gov.gr, since in essence it brings a new package of measures per danger zone to “stop” the launch of cases, especially in Attica, which is at level 3 and is pushing the health system due to the negative history of intubations.

See HERE the new cases today (10/10) announced by EODY

See HERE where the new cases are today 10/10. All areas.

At the same time, more relaxed measures are foreseen for those areas that are in green.

This map includes four levels of precautionary measures and rules for each regional unit in the country. These will be classified based on the four colors: green, yellow, orange and red.

It should be noted that – so far – there is no red zone, that is, at the highest level of alarm and concern.

Determining the level of risk in each area depends on the increasing or decreasing trend of the epidemiological variables, such as the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the indicators of completeness of the Health system (eg, used individual beds and beds in Care Units). Intensive) and the qualitative characteristics of the epidemiological situation, as reflected in the follow-up data.

The map will be updated every 14 days based on the recommendations of a special committee on infectious diseases of the Ministry of Health, or more frequently, when required by health and epidemiological indicators.

One of the areas located in the “eye” of the coronavirus, is Attica. However, according to the Minister of Civil Protection, the Basin is still far from level 4.

Answering questions from journalists about whether Attica is in danger of entering level 4, Nikos Hardalias said the situation has now been streamlined for Attica. Based on current epidemiological data, we are far from reaching level 4, he characteristically said. He also mentioned that for levels 1-2-3 there is a strong recommendation for an outdoor mask. “If we go to level 4, it will be mandatory to use them outdoors.”

At the same time, the resilience of the health system in Attica is being tested by the coronavirus, which remains the epicenter of the pandemic in the country.

Day by day the health system is increasingly under pressure as the number of patients in the hospitals and Intensive Care Units of the Basin increases.

The number of intubated in the ICU is approaching the levels of April, causing intense concern to scientists, who see the panorama of the coronavirus pandemic in our country deteriorating.

As Gikas Majorkinis, Professor of Clinical Virology at the University of Athens Faculty of Medicine, said during the pandemic briefing, in April the number of intubated was 93.

Attica in red: the areas with the most cases

The problem appears to have moved to the West Attica municipalities, where the highest number of cases is now seen in the watershed.

In particular, the center of Athens, the municipality of Peristeri and the municipality of Acharnes present the first cases.

The sun is of particular concern as it is now one of the busiest areas. According to neighbors, although the shops close at 12 at night, many citizens, mainly young people, crowd at night until dawn in the squares of the area.

Seeing the above data and in order to “stop” the launch of cases, both in Attica and in other parts of the country that flirt with the “red” on the “map” of danger, the government of Monday October 23, implements a new package of measures by region. In this context, the 74 regions of the country are included in four levels: preparedness (green), vigilance (yellow), increased vigilance (orange) and increased risk.

The map will be updated every 14 days based on the recommendations of the expert committee, or more frequently, when required by health and epidemiological indicators.

Attica remains at the penultimate level of risk, Level 3 which is marked in orange and is classified in the “Increased Vigilance” areas.

Furthermore, this is completely logical considering that only this week 37% of the cases from all of Attica were registered in the municipality of Athens.

In general, the same restrictive measures apply in Attica. These are the same in all areas of Greece where there is a level 3 alarm (orange).

The map will be updated every 14 days based on the recommendations of a special committee on infectious diseases of the Ministry of Health or more frequently, when required by health and epidemiological indicators.

In addition, the definition of measures and rules is subject to modifications based on the latest scientific and research data.

The rules and opening hours of the stores.

At the same time, Mr. Hardalias presented some modifications that this map will include in the individual standards that were in force to date.

The most important changes are as follows:

1) The use of a mask is mandatory in indoor workplaces and outdoor areas with synchronization at all alarm levels for the entire country.

2) The opening hours of restaurants and entertainment centers are limited to all alarm levels, that is, throughout the country throughout the territory.

3) Indoor and outdoor meetings establish a ceiling without exception of 100 people for Level 1 areas, 50 people for Level 2 areas and 9 people for Level 3 areas.

4) Proportional rules for places and completeness are established in conferences, places of worship and museums.

5) Strict occupancy limits are established in theater, cinema and concerts, which are as follows: 65% at level 1, 50% at level 2, 30% at level 3.

6) Catering occupancy limits are set at 80% for level 1, 65% for level 2 and 50% for level 3

7) The use of a mask in gyms is foreseen for staff and athletes depending on the alarm level.
