Microsoft is reportedly considering three properties in the Attica region to implement the data centers it intends to create in our country. Essentially, this is the same data center that will be “spread out” over two or three different geographic locations to ensure its availability as much as possible.

This tactic is followed by all large companies that manage data centers, in order to ensure their proper use. These data centers are generally connected by fiber optics and behave as if they were the same center.

Informed sources point to an investment that will be part of Microsoft’s online cloud computing services. However, thanks to its investment in Greece, it will focus on clients located in the broader region of Southeast Europe, as well as in our country and mainly in the public sector that is now developing digitally.

The move, according to government officials, hopes to create a new wave of investment, both from the United States and from other countries around the world. Special importance at the governmental level is attached to Israel, China and Russia. Also a wish project for the K. Mitsotakis government is that such investments will stop the departure of talented and well-trained engineers and scientific personnel from the country.

Microsoft’s new investment, to be announced today at 11:00 AM by Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis and Microsoft International Director Brad Smith, is estimated to employ at least 100 engineers, while the total staff may exceed a few hundred. .

The most important thing about this Microosft investment is that it confirms the change of technology companies around the world for productive investments in our country. And unlike what happened in the last 20-30 years, most of the tech giants created activities in our country that were purely for marketing and sales growth. There was no added value in their products from Greece.

Now, this situation can be seen in small steps, like those of Microsoft, etc. The tech giants are changing now. Before Microsoft, it was Cisco, Pfizer, Delloite, etc., who took a further step in their presence in Greece, creating new value-added units in our country.
