THE Kastoria Metropolitan Seraphim breathed his last in the early hours of Tuesday.
The 61 year old metropolitan He fought against the coronavirus for 20 days at the 424 Military Hospital in Thessaloniki where he was treated.

It was preceded by the casualties of the former metropolitan of Triki and Stagi, Alexios, in early December and the metropolitan of Lagada, Litis and Rentini, Ioannis in November.

Who was the metropolitan of Kastoria?
The Blessed Metropolitan Kastoria Serafeim (according to Ioannis Papakostas) was born in 1959 in Agnantero, Karditsa.
He studied at the Rizareio Ecclesiastical School in Athens, at the Higher Ecclesiastical School where he graduated in 1983.
He then studied at the Theological School of Athens and graduated in 1987.
He was ordained a deacon in 1983 and an elder in 1987. He served as a deacon, pastor-preacher, and priest at Agios Nikolaos Church in Kato Patissia.
