The rules of operation

Therefore, for retail companies, the maximum number of people allowed (employees and customers) is calculated as follows, depending on the area of the store:
- Up to 20 m2: 4 people
- From 20 to 100 m2: 4 people + 1 person for every 10 m2
- More than 100 m2: 12 people + 1 person for 15 m2
- In stores of more than 300 square meters, with more than one level, the level criterion also applies, that is, up to 1 person for every 10 square meters per floor.
Opening Hours
As for the start time, for stores it will be 10:00. Exceptions are stores that sell paints and other industrial items, which can open from 07:00.
The mandatory 1.5-meter distance between people remains in place, while there is also a strong recommendation for the use of a mask by staff and customers, Deputy Minister of Development and Investment Nikos Papathanasis said, making the relevant announcements. on Friday.
He recalled that it is recommended not to use elevators, while in case of need to use them, the allowed limit is 40% of fullness. In shops with escalators, the use of the elevator is only allowed for people with disabilities, the elderly and for the supply of the store.
Driving schools and betting shops
Driver schools can only be present by appointment and a customer list is required. The use of a mask is mandatory for both the trainer and the trainee.
In gambling and betting shops, the retail rules apply to the number of people. In addition, its operation is allowed only without seated customers, while there is a strong recommendation for the use of a mask, both by employees and customers.
Rules on outdoor shopping
Finally, the following applies to industrial companies in counter and outdoor markets:
- Minimum distance of 5 meters between vendors’ stalls.
- Maximum percentage of participation in popular markets up to 50% of the original participants.
- Opportunity to participate with the same percentage of 50% in parallel popular markets created to avoid overcrowding.
- Minimum distance of 1.5 meters between people.
