From February 1, 2021 the Electronic identity of the building/ The Independent Divided Ownership ceases its optional pilot operation and enters into force as mandatory.

In particular, with the 2 Ministerial Decisions signed by the Vice Minister of the Environment and Energy, Nikos Tagaras:

  • is scheduled to start Electronic record,
  • It is determined by process registration of independent buildings / properties in the digital platform of the Electronic Identity of the Building with the required supporting documents, as well as
  • the year information on the data, the form as well as the technical characteristics of the Electronic Identity forms and the Certificate of Completeness of the Identity of the Building / Divided Independent Property.

With the Electronic Identity of the Building / Property Independently Divided through the electronic platform of the TEE, collect in a certificate, in the Certificate of integrity, all the necessary data and information of a property as a result:

  • Avoid creating a new generation of arbitrariness.
  • To protect citizens’ property as all property changes will be recorded. In this way, transparency in legal transactions (transfers) is achieved.
  • To drastically reduce bureaucracy since the citizen – owner who has digital “radiography” of his property, does not need to rush to look for any document in public services. Now, with a few “clicks” on the computer, you will be able to receive the required information (for example, property titles, building permit, declaration of ownership in the Land Registry, etc.).
  • The State must obtain a registry of its properties with important information (static suitability, structural vulnerability, etc.), so that the interventions required in them can be planned.
  • To accelerate investments, as is the case with digitized information on real estate (buildings or plots / plots), the time for its investigation and examination by potential investors is drastically shortened.

The Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Nikos Tagaras, stated:

“Through the Electronic Identity of the Building / Divided Independent Property, our country is turning the page regarding the impression of the building stock. Digitally, through the TEE platform, the registration of all buildings – old and new, public and private – is carried out in terms of transparency in an electronic daily monitoring and information system.

The benefit is manifold. And for the owners, and for the environment and for the economy. Initially, with the Electronic Identification of a Building / Independently Divided Property, an important disincentive is introduced in the future arbitrariness since only with its acquisition will the settlement of the arbitrary be considered complete.

At the same time, citizens are insuring their property and saving many wasted labor hours from the “paper bureaucracy” as everything will be done digitally.

Finally, a reliable database of buildings is created for the entire territory, especially useful both for urban planning and for accelerating the investments that the country needs.
