With deep sadness, the National Opera announced the sudden death of A ‘ Dancer Ballet Alexander (Sasha) Neskov at the age of 50.
The emblematic protagonist of the Ballet performed with great success for more than 20 years at the National Opera all the major roles in the repertoire. The public highlighted him from the beginning for his solid technique, expressiveness and sensitivity to his performances. His ELS colleagues will always remember him for his kindness, modesty, and unique character.
Born in Serbia, he studied dance at the Novi Sad National School of Dance (Serbia) and worked at the Serbian National Ballet. In 1991 she became the First Dancer of the Hungarian National Ballet (Pets) and participated as a guest dancer in the Hungarian National Opera. In 1996 he became a member of the National Opera Ballet, while since 1998 he was the first dancer.
He was also very involved in teaching dance. In recent years he has worked at ELS as a repeater (teacher of choreography), as well as an assistant and teacher at the Higher School of Professional Dance of the National Opera. In addition, he had taught at the State School of Orchestral Art (KSOT).
For the National Opera he had danced leading roles in numerous iconic ballets. Indicatively mentioned are: Koppelia, Giselle, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, The Poor Daughter, Naples, Divergent, Pakita, Romeo and Juliet, Zorbas, Eugene Oniegin.
In addition, he had played leading roles in works by great choreographers. Examples include: Milko Sparenblek, Vladimir Logunov, Istvan Hertsog, Anashe Partaϋ, Germinal Cassando, Leonidas De Pian, Lorca Massin, Pierre Iaronis Diontais Anoumis Roukoutis Fkis, Carol Armita Sophia, Van Danche, Igor Zelensky, Irek Muhamedov, Kenneth Mc Aston, Renato Janella, etc.
In 2003 he was awarded the Best Male Acting Award by the Ministry of Culture.
The management and staff of the National Opera express their condolences to his family and relatives.
As a minimal sign of appreciation for the great talent and rare personality of her beloved Sasha, the National Opera will cover her funeral expenses.
