Emergency shutdown: The worsening picture of the coronavirus pandemic in our country leads the government to take continuous measures in a dynamic process in order to stop the escalation of the spread of Covid-19.
Following the universal closure of schools across the country which was officially announced at noon on Saturday from the Minister of Health, Vassilis Kikilias, the Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos and the Minister of the Interior, Takis Theodorikakos, new packages will arrive in the near future to reduce movements and achieve the goal of opening the market at Christmas.
Having already spent two weeks in Thessaloniki and one in Athens, to take stricter measures, the objective is to immediately show a reduction in daily cases and in a second year a reduction in the number of patients who are intubated in ICU as well so that the health system does not collapse.

Primary schools, kindergartens, and nurseries are closing
The suspension of the operation of kindergartens, primary schools and nurseries was announced by the Minister of Health, Vassilis Kikilias, at a press conference at the Ministry of Health.
According to him, at the proposal of the committee of specialists in infectious diseases, epidemiologists and specialists, the government decided to suspend the operation of primary schools, kindergartens and kindergartens until November 30.
“Schools and especially elementary schools were the last thing we wanted to close and that in itself is a clear message to everyone about the seriousness of the situation.”concluded Mr. Kikilias.

How will the educational process take place?
Primary education will function remotely in two interconnected ways, with educational television and modern e-learning:
– Educational television: immediately from Monday morning at 9 pm – first day of implementation of the measures – ERT2 will start broadcasting television lessons for primary school students, while tomorrow the program of these lessons will be released.
– Modern distance education: Starting Monday, the school management, in collaboration with the teachers, will prepare a modern distance education program and carry out the necessary tests.
On Wednesday the digital lessons for Primary School
Mandatory distance education will begin on Wednesday, after school holidays on November 17. Each lesson will last 30 minutes and will take place from 2 to 5 pm for elementary schools and from 2 to 4:20 for kindergartens, including short breaks.
What applies to the State
The facilities that were implemented during the first quarantine for parents during the period of suspension of school and preschool education will take effect on Monday, as announced by the Minister of the Interior, Takis Theodorikakos, as well as the closure of primary and kindergartens until the 30. November includes municipal and private kindergartens and nurseries.
As mentioned by Mr. Theodorikakos for parents of civil servants with children in these stations, kindergartens and primary schools, the first quarantine facilities will apply. That is, reduction of hours by 25% or the granting of a special purpose license.

- The employees of the municipal nurseries – whose operation is suspended until November 30 – receive a special allowance of 800 euros.
- At the same time, provision is made for the inclusion of private nurseries in a repayable advance scheme.
Traffic ban from 21:00 to 05:00
In this context, it is worth remembering what is valid and what is not in our daily life and our movements after the last bans.

Supermarket opening hours: what changes from Monday
Grocery stores, pharmacies, and auto repair shops are open until 8:30 p.m., however, supermarkets and mini-markets may offer delivery services after 8:30 p.m. and until 1:00 a.m. to midnight, while that the kiosks are open 24 hours a day.
What applies to deliveries
Regarding the operation of take away and delivery from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., the Hardalia afternoon newsletter clarifies that there is no issue of prohibiting home delivery services (delivery) during these hours.
It also clarifies that the collection in stores in operation (take away) continues after 9:00 p.m. and during all their opening hours, but not as an independent reason for movement, but within the movements allowed during these hours.
