Little Zacharias remains in serious condition in the PAGNI Children’s ICU with his response to the multiple supports that he accepts as deficient, is typically noted in the medical announcement issued by the Heraklion University Hospital.
As highlighted in the announcement by the hospital commander George Chalkiadakis “the child’s parents have been informed about the serious condition and poor prognosis.
More specifically, the PAGNI commander’s announcement generally reads the following:
“The 3-year-old patient is being treated in serious condition in the Children’s ICU, where he was admitted at 9:30 p.m. in hypothermia (28 οC) and in mydriasis. He was immediately placed on mechanical respiratory support, rewarming devices were placed, the appropriate vasoactive medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, as well as other medications (antibiotics, gastroprotection) were administered. The patient is constantly monitored for his vital signs, undergoes clinical laboratory tests and imaging of the organ systems and is supported on multiple occasions according to the treatment protocols for post-opposition syndrome. Despite multiple support by all means, the patient’s response is poor. It is observed that there is constant communication with the child’s parents who were informed about the serious condition and the poor prognosis.
Yours sincerely, PAGNI Commander Professor George Chalkiadakis “
