Confusion with schools in Kozani

The anger in Kozani has been provoked by the fact that, despite the declaration of the entire region in a state of increased risk (Level 4) and the restrictive measures that have been implemented, the schools will continue to function normally.

It is highlighted that the announcement of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection establishes that the operation of schools and all kinds of educational structures continues normally with the mandatory use of masks everywhere, while for Higher Education Institutions (IES) only tele-education will be applied.

The health insurance map website, however, simply mentions level 4: “Schools – Possible rotating operation, in combination with distance education or tele-education only.”

Finally, the Municipality of Kozani states the following, after complaints from citizens: “The Municipality of Kozani clarifies that in cases related to health issues (coronavirus) the responsibility for the suspension of schools lies with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of health”.
