At the same time, he spoke of the effort to settle in different areas the approximately 3,500 who are estimated to have been left without accommodation, being the specialized measures after the autopsy of government personnel made up of the Ministers of Immigration and the Interior as well as the head of EODY.

Hundreds more refugees are currently missing, while fires continue in the Moria area. Among the “disappeared” and the 36 positives in the coronavirus that is being identified.

With regard to the internationalization of the issue, George Komoutsakos referred to a briefing of the relevant EU commissioners who have already expressed the intention to provide the required assistance.

“We are dealing with a major humanitarian crisis. We do what is humanly possible.” Action in the field is paramount, and not just the discussion about the causes of the disaster, “said the deputy minister, who ruled out an organized fire plan instigated by other centers. He also clarified that the Police are investigating all the possibilities for the start of the fire, which he characterized as a result of the dissatisfaction of some guests in the structure due to the imposition of quarantine.
