“Obviously it is a work tool, it is a reminder tool and at this stage it is a tool that if we can reach and categorize some data or some categories that we monitor daily, we can use it,” he said.

At the same time, the Attica region is currently between moderate and high epidemiological risk, showing 3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per day, that is, it is in the “orange”. The situation continues to grow steadily, he noted.

In this context, he stressed that we must act quickly before the alarm reaches red.

The measures, announced, refer to general restrictions for residents throughout Attica and more specifically for employees and vulnerable groups.

The Undersecretary referred to the radical inspections in the workplace and addressed a message to employers mainly, and employees of the private sector, for sanctions where the measures are not applied.

Mr. Hardalias gave specific numbers to fully understand the situation, said that the possibility of confinement is very far if the measures are observed, but said that he is concerned, but the situation is not out of control, he left open the possibility of implementation . for the elderly mainly, the scope of messages and notes for their output, He appealed to everyone to avoid travel, while he did not hesitate to comment significantly and the energy of Mr. Koumoutsakos to communicate yesterday, answering a relevant question.

What the numbers show

Since the pandemic began on February 25, 14,400 cases have been confirmed, of which 4,084 are active throughout the country. Of these 2,100, that is, more than half are in Attica and 966 in the municipality of Athens.

Of the active cases in Attica, 263 are hospitalized, while 1,837 have recovered at home. As can be seen from the data, every day there are 3 cases per 100,00 inhabitants in Attica, which shows a moderate to high epidemiological risk and the situation is constantly increasing.

“We have to act quickly, before the alarm reaches red,” stressed Mr. Hardalias, adding that the problem is located in 7 municipalities, but in recent days it is very intense in Municipality of Athens.

For this reason, the government, in consultation and cooperation with the mayor, proceeded to plan additional measures that include:

• Testing in vulnerable groups

• Special communication with specific groups of citizens

• Additional sanitary measures and

• The scan verifies the implementation of existing measures.

It is also planned to transfer a series of positive cases to quarantined hotels where they will be under the supervision of health personnel and receive the necessary care. Among them will be asymptomatic immigrants.
