The target for the vaccination of 60% to 70% of the population of Greece for June has been set by the government, as the time counts for the start of vaccinations against the coronavirus in our country and throughout the EU on 27 December.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis characterized mass vaccinations as a national gamble for the next period.
The emvolio.gov.gr platform, where citizens can obtain information on vaccination against covid-19, has already begun to operate. Based on the current schedule for the delivery of vaccine doses, the appointment platform will open in the second ten days of January for the vaccination of the general population.
“The vaccine saves lives”
A major communication campaign will be launched in early January to persuade citizens to get vaccinated. The slogan of the campaign according to the SKAI report may be “The vaccine saves lives”, however the final decisions have not been made and many proposals have fallen on the table.
A large percentage of doctors say they will get vaccinated
The registration of medical and nursing personnel to be vaccinated continues, as health workers are the first to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
In the reference hospitals, the percentage of doctors who claimed to be vaccinated is very high. In fact, according to the Deputy Minister of Health, Vassilis Kontozamanis, the request for participation in the vaccination of doctors exceeds 70%.
