The positive coronavirus rate is around 11%, which shows the spread in the population, based on the 1,678 new cases announced on Sunday by EODY and the number of 16,000 tests carried out on the same day.
The limit set by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) for this rate is 4%, according to infectious disease professor Sotiris Tsiodras.
Negative first again in Thessaloniki
The number of new infections in Thessaloniki remains high, with 449 new cases detected on Sunday, so an emergency plan has already been activated in order to increase the capacity of the NSS to meet the growing needs of the region.
The rapid increase in day-to-day cases in the area was featured with a graph in SKAI’s main newsletter.
On October 26, 84 new cases were announced, on October 27, 291, on October 28, 384, on October 29, 275, on October 30, 540, and on October 31, 839 new cases.
The increase in cases across the country
Across the country, a total of 1,068 new cases were reported in July, 5,840 in August, 8,158 in September, and 20,776 in October.
