On Monday, as everything shows, the new measures for Attica will be examined after the aggravated epidemiological picture of the coronavirus in the region.
The aim is to limit the spread, especially due to the pressure that coronavirus patients put on the ICU and MAF units. Yesterday 267 new cases and 79 intubated cases were announced.
Two basic measures are being considered for Attica.
The Committee on Infectious Diseases focuses both on universal mask use indoors and outdoors, that is, as much as restaurants close at 10 pm instead of 12 midnight that applies.
Already the Minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, speaking with Mega, left open the possibility of closing restaurants at 10 at night, if the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic cannot be controlled.

“As long as we cannot control the pandemic, we will take tougher measures to avoid a general lockdown, which will be catastrophic for the economy. So all other measures are on the table,” said A. Georgiadis, in today’s interview with MEGA, answering a question about the restaurant and the possibility that the stores close after 10 at night and not at 12 at night.

In any case, the recommendations of the Infectious Diseases Committee are expected to be presented to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday, who will decide whether further action should be taken.
The three criteria, which the competent committee of infectious disease specialists take into account for all decisions, are the number of intubated patients, the number of daily cases, and the resistance of the NSS.
At the same time, the existing measures have been extended until October 12, as announced by Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias.
From the side of the experts, Nikolas Sypsas also pointed out yesterday that the situation is a bit difficult in Attica and must be overcome now, before it is too late. He recalled that “we also have a lot of pipes.”
Mr. Sypsas stressed that everything needs moderation and good will, noting that “I do not consider it important that the mask is made mandatory and with a fine in the open air.”
However, he clarified in all directions that “there is already a ready package of new measures, if it is necessary to take it.”
Up to this point in the Attica region the following measures apply:
-The operation of shops of natural interest is prohibited from 12:00 midnight to 5:00 am the next day.
-Up to 9 people are allowed in indoor and outdoor meetings. Areas where special distance measures apply, such as health warehouses, are excluded.
– Concerts have been suspended in closed and open spaces.
Screenings in closed cinemas have been suspended.
– Theatrical performances have been suspended.
– A maximum of 20 people are established at weddings, baptisms, funerals.
-The maximum number of people in the table seats of the health stores is six.
In addition, the operation of any type of retail trade has been suspended from 12:00 at night to 5:00 am the next day, such as kiosks, mini markets (including those located inside service stations), warehouses, tobacconists, grocery stores, bakeries, confectioneries.
However, pharmacies, gas stations and vending machines are excluded, except for the supply of alcoholic beverages. It is allowed to take, drive and deliver to restaurants with the exception of the sale of alcohol.
The use of a mask is mandatory in all closed public and private workplaces, as well as in all open meeting places, such as squares, bus stops, queues at shops, marches, demonstrations, political party events where not you can observe the distance rule. 1.5 meters.

-Introduction of flexibility during the arrival and departure of private sector employees in 4 waves, within 2 hours from the start and end of the working day.
-Scanning controls and sanctions for employers and employees who do not comply with personal protection measures in the workplace, that is, the mandatory use of a mask.
-Extensive inspections: tests carried out by EODY teams in workplaces and meetings in congested areas of Attica and services of the public and private sector that are considered necessary, “for the proper functioning of the state and the economy”, such as schools, transportation public and mainly hospitals.
For the protection of citizens who belong in vulnerable groups and over 65 years recommended:
-Limit your movements during the next 14 days to what is absolutely necessary, always taking the appropriate protective measures.
-Avoid contact with people outside the close family environment and avoid transport by public transport.
Besides Attica:
-It is decided to stay in quarantine hotels, asymptomatic positive cases belonging to vulnerable population groups, such as immigrants
What applies to regional units Trikala, Pella, Pieria, Kilkis, Lesbos, Imathia, Chania, Heraklion, Halkidiki, Zakynthos and for the municipalities of Mykonos, Kythnos:
– The operation of all health interest stores is prohibited from 12 at night until 05:00 the next day.
– All kinds of events have been suspended, such as parties, fairs, processions.
– Any type of meeting of citizens over 9 people for any reason, both in public and in private, is prohibited.
– In the dining areas, a maximum number of people at each table is allowed up to 4 people, unless they are first degree relatives where up to 6 people are allowed.
– The use of a mask is mandatory both outdoors and indoors.
What applies to regional units Thessaloniki, Corfu, Larissa, Karditsa, Rethymno and Lassithi, as well as for the municipalities of Thira, Volos, Katerini, Rhodes, Kos, Paros and Antiparos.
