As announced, as of Tuesday, November 3 at 6 a.m. and for 14 days, in all Regional Units of Thessaloniki and Serres, new individualized epidemiological alarm measures will come into force to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
Wholesale, industry, hotels and schools remain open. It is highlighted that distance education is compulsory in all secondary schools, as well as in Higher Education Institutions.
In these two areas, there is a 24-hour travel restriction with exceptions by time zone (05.00-21.00 and 21.00-05.00). The residents of these areas will be able to travel by sending (free) SMS messages to 13033, as was done in the first phase of the pandemic.
It should be noted that the movement to and from work during working hours or during work if necessary, is done exclusively with the corresponding type A certificate from the employer. No SMS is needed.
Specifically, according to an announcement by the Vice Minister of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalia:
For the period 05.00-21.00 movements are allowed ONLY for the following reasons:
1. Traveling for health reasons (going to a pharmacy, visiting a doctor or going to a hospital or health center, if recommended after contact).[SMS Επιλογή 1]
2. Go to an in-house supply store, where it is not possible to ship them on time. [SMS – Επιλογή 2]
3. Go to a public service, if the electronic or telephone service is not possible only for urgent needs, prior appointment to which the citizen is informed in writing or electronically and under the additional condition of showing the above information. Go to the bank, insofar as electronic transaction is not possible. [SMS – Επιλογή 3]
Four. Go help people in need. Transfer to and from the workplace of a spouse or first-degree relative, if necessary. Transportation of a minor to and from a school unit [SMS – Επιλογή 4]
5. Attend a ceremony (eg Funeral) under the conditions provided by law or go to divorced parents or parents who are in a dimension that is necessary to ensure communication between parents and children, in accordance with current provisions. [SMS – Επιλογή 5]
6. Physical exercise in the open air or movement with a pet, individually or in pairs of two (2) people, provided that in the latter case the necessary distance of 1.5 meters (1.5) is observed. Transition for feeding stray animals, if the transition takes place within the municipality of residence of the citizen. [SMS – Επιλογή 6]
For the period 21: 00-05: 00 movements are allowed ONLY for work reasons [με βεβαίωση εργοδότη τύπου Α, χωρίς SMS], Health [SMS – Επιλογή 1] and individual movement with a pet [SMS – Επιλογή 6].
It is also observed that the transfer of minor children to and from school units is allowed by a parent / guardian by sending an SMS – Option 4 and with a certificate-certificate from the School Directorate, indicating the address of the school unit and the address of the student’s home -τριας.
Travel outside the Thessaloniki and Serres Regional Units is prohibited. Air and rail transport is suspended abroad, while it is only allowed for strictly professional and health reasons in national transport.

The operation of retail trade (excluding food retail stores, such as supermarkets, convenience stores, etc., as well as pet shops), hairdressers and personal hygiene services are suspended.
Catering remains on hold, while delivery services are allowed. Grocery stores are open until 20:30, while their operation is also scheduled for the weekend.
TO transport, there is a limit on the number of passengers in a car up to 1 person more than the driver (excluding underage children).
Suspended playgrounds include playgrounds and amusement parks / theme parks.
In places of worship, services are conducted without the presence of believers, while only funeral ceremonies are allowed with the presence of up to 9 people.
