Koronovios: Reflections on New Measures After Yesterday’s Record – Movement Restrictions

[ad_1]

The government is moving towards new measures aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus after yesterday’s new negative record of cases.

The new measures are expected by the weekend, without ruling out such a thing even earlier, as will be decided at today’s morning meeting under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with members of the Infectious Diseases Committee and the political leadership of the Ministry of Health.

According to information cited by the daily “Kathimerini”, the government is oriented to prohibit the transit from 00:30 to 05:00, in order to avoid parties and entertainment gatherings, which are the main cause of over-transmission. At the same time, the universal use of the mask and how it can be applied is examined. One idea is to use it on busier roads, as is the case abroad.

One measure that has fallen on the table is a ban on moving from one county to another. The measurement is currently valid only where the map has turned red, but it is possible to apply it to the “orange” areas of the map.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is also expected to have a video conference with regional governors, while a television message is not ruled out.

Negative case record and local block

Nikos Hardalias announced yesterday that emergency measures will be taken in Kastoria, in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Thus, Kastoria became the second regional unit, after Kozani, where the blockade is applied.

In Kastoria, starting tomorrow morning, the “Level 4” measures will be implemented. Thus, the operation of courts, museums, theaters, cinemas, retail stores, restaurants, hairdressers and gyms is suspended, meetings are prohibited and the use of a mask is mandatory everywhere.

Respectively, starting tomorrow morning Thessaloniki, Boeotia and Larisa will raise the alarm level from 2 which is now to 3, which mainly means more restrictions on meetings, fullness and opening hours of health shops, theaters , cinemas, etc. , while a big “jump” is registered by the Serres Peripheral Unit that went from “green” (alarm level 1) directly to “orange” (alarm level 3).

Shortly before the “reds” are Ioannina, where, as the Secretary General of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, and who made the relevant announcements said yesterday, the indicators are marginal and the situation will be reassessed by the special commission of the health security map on the next Saturday.

In Thessaloniki, Hardals

Today an extraordinary meeting will be held in Thessaloniki in the presence of the Governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas and the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias. The meeting will examine the course of the pandemic in Central Macedonia, the observance of measures and controls to limit its spread and the possible adoption of additional measures to protect public health in all regional units in Central Macedonia.
