Referring to the appalling death toll – 284 in November alone – Ms. Linou said, speaking on the “Society Hour MEGA” program, that special attention is needed “because we are in a state of insidious warfare.” No one knows who will be affected by the pandemic. “The professor then spoke about the measures, noting that it is not enough to take stricter measures, but rather (measures) that will be applicable and acceptable to the public.

“It is not just about announcing measures. It is making them feasible and desirable. And this is difficult with this disease,” Athena Linou noted.

“What is valid now is not a real quarantine”

Shortly after, Professor Linu was asked about the existing partial blockage and his thoughts on stiffening the frame. “Yes, I do not think that the current quarantine is a real quarantine.” The true quarantine is that I live at home, I go out to look for medicine and food and I do not go anywhere, I do not meet anyone, “he stressed.

Athena Linou then said that if the “frenzy” increase in coronavirus cases continues in the next 2-3 days and it seems that we did not succeed, then “something must be done.” Regarding the State’s response to the pandemic, Athena Linou was clear: “The State is pulling the strings.” It is between maintaining the economy, the mental balance of citizens and dealing with the disease.

To conclude, Ms Linou argued that “it was too late to take measures to encourage people to observe the quarantine.” We did not have many information campaigns, we did not have studies that show what the approach to the population will be, so that it can mobilize in the fight against the pandemic. ”However, he noted that“ the scientific community worldwide is infinite. “The last great pandemic was 100 years ago and today no one is alive.”

The next 10 days are crucial for the lockdown

Speaking in the same program, the editorial advisor of the newspaper “TA NEA”, George Papachristos pointed out that “what we are seeing is not quarantine, we are going to walk”, citing the 4.5 million SMS sent daily to 13033.

“I have the feeling that the government is relaxed in observing the quarantine. The reasons are theirs and have to do mainly with the economy,” noted Mr. Papachristos, emphasizing that the course of coronavirus cases in the next ten days will show if they will lead us to absolute blockade.
