European Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakidou told SKAI that the European Union has already signed an agreement with three companies. for the supply of vaccines, while in the coming days the signatories with Pfizer-Biontech will fall.

I would say that with the data we have today it is possible to have a vaccine available for the first population groups by the end of the year or the beginning of the next. Of course we have seen that during clinical trials, there are also unforeseen events and that is why I am reluctant to set a schedule.. “We are closely following the developments and the news we receive from Pfizer and Biontech is quite optimistic and we are looking forward to seeing in the coming weeks whether they will proceed with the application for a license from the European Medicines Agency,” said Ms Kyriakidou.
