EKPA rector and professor Thanos Dimopoulos mentioned the four reasons why there was an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Greece.

Speaking with ANT1, Mr. Dimopoulos highlighted the four reasons for his outburst coronavirus.

“The prevalence of mutant strains, the fatigue of the population that is reasonable and we all understand it, the meteorological conditions that favor the transmission of the virus and vaccination, which despite the mobilization continues to be low in the whole of Europe, are responsible of the recent coronavirus outbreak weeks, ”he characteristically said.

At the same time, he stressed that “no one can say, not even the most expert, that they have the absolute solution for measures and contagion. This also applies to schools. “Even if the effect of your operation on the number of cases is small, it counts significantly in a period where we have a four-digit number of cases every day for so many days.”

“Based on the amount of vaccines that we have today and those that we expect in the near future, the tactics of vaccinating the elderly are correct, because as we see, their hospital admissions have also decreased. In the next phase, it is logical that those who work to live with other people get vaccinated, ”added Mr. Dimopoulos.

Mr. Dimopoulos also pointed out that any offer from private doctors is important, however, he said that “of course any voluntary effort counts, but each COVID-19 unit to be able to operate 24 hours requires permanent staff, enough to rest even the Doctors. The follow-up of patients with coronavirus requires additional time, due to the measures that medical personnel must take, so the only solution here is the permanent hiring of doctors. “
