Rapid developments are at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic since new negative record in Thessaloniki, with the government taking steps to limit the spread of the disease.
The situation in Thessaloniki is very bad, with the Minister of Health, Vassilis Kikilias, confirming that “all of northern Greece is in the red”, shortly after the announcement by EODY that spoke of 905 new cases in the last 24 hours in the co-equity.
According to exclusive information from MEGA, in recent hours there have been continuous meetings of government officials and specialists in infectious diseases in order to stem the tide of the coronavirus.
In this context, according to the same sources, the government is promoting the adoption of new emergency measures, one of which is the closure of all land borders in northern Greece.
In fact, other stricter restrictions may be announced in the coming hours, mainly with regard to citizen mobility, the situation being described as marginal.
Stifling situation in hospitals
It is noted that according to the latest data released on Wednesday morning, the ICU-COVID serving the needs of Thessaloniki (including Halkidiki, Katerini and Kavala hospitals) is currently 211.
Of these, 199 are occupied and 12 are vacant (6%).
