The president of the Panhellenic Medical Association, Athanasios Exadaktylos, and the president of EINAP, Matina Pagoni, gave a strict response to the deniers of the mask who with fake news urge citizens not to use it, while pointing out the need for its use.
Mr. Exadaktylos explained that the coronavirus is a respiratory virus and that is why the use of a mask is the weapon to be treated, “as if something were caused by the sun, it would be avoiding the sun.”
He also stressed that the “mask deniers” are safe from their scientifically unfounded theories, because if 90% of society adheres to the measures and observes them properly, it protects the 10% who do not adhere to them. “But if the majority of the people listen to them, then we will have all the evils that we try to avoid,” the PIS president stressed.

He explained that the mask is completely safe and protective and that children should go to school with masks on Monday to protect themselves, their families and their environment.
“The oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules pass through the pores of the mask because they are diametrically smaller. There is no problem. The mask protects against droplets that cannot get out, because the droplets are larger in diameter,” stressed the president of EINAP.
Forecasts for November and December are dire: the possibility of a mask everywhere
On the occasion of the negative record of 372 cases on Thursday, the president of the Panhellenic Medical Association warned that if a systematic effort is not made, then in November and December this number can “look back with nostalgia” since the forecasts are double.
“By observing the measures very strictly and with great consistency, we can reverse them (the number of new cases). We will not see them go down in double digits in the next two months, but we shouldn’t see them go up, because as we saw yesterday, the rise it is very easy and the descent is very difficult ”, stressed Mr. Exadaktylos.
Ms Pagoni emphasized that if coronavirus cases increase, the mask should possibly also be mandatory abroad.
“Masks everywhere, he finds me pleasant indoors and right now outdoors, where there is overcrowding.” But if things change and cases increase, I think masks should also be used outdoors, “he emphasized.
