The health authorities’ concern about the spread of the epidemic in areas outside Attica and Thessaloniki is intense, where more than 50% of new cases are identified.
Thessaloniki and Attica are still in the red as they register 683 and 492 new cases caused by the coronavirus, respectively, but in the rest of Greece things are not going well since the dispersion is great as shown by the 2,448 cases diagnosed yesterday Friday .
Thus, in addition to Attica and Thessaloniki, there are 2 more regions that have more than 100 cases and are Drama (100 infections) and Larissa (120 infections).
In this context, Professor Gikas Majorkinis spoke of a slight reduction in infections in Attica and of an “explosion” in Thessaloniki with six times more diagnoses per unit of population. Therefore, he noted that the epidemiological situation worsens more in northern Greece.

At the same time, it is characteristic that EODY teams made up of Mobile Health Groups (KOMY) carried out rapid tests in various areas on Friday and it is interesting that 89 tests were carried out in the Deskati square in the Grevena region and 28 positive tests were found. (31.5%), in Lofos de Pieria Square, 34 tests with 8 positive cases (23.5%) and in Kilkis Town Hall Square, 741 tests with 51 positive cases (6.9%).
The coronavirus is pushing the NSS
The country is entering a new lockdown with 1,854 people receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Yesterday 292 patients were added and on Thursday so many more were added, so the health system is suffocating.
The Intensive Care Units (ICU) treated 234 people yesterday, of which 204 were intubated.
