This is -among other things- the reason why despite the reduction in cases even today, scientists are not rushing to talk about the remission of the virus in our country. 
What are scientists saying about the course of the pandemic?
Scientists, despite the daily reduction of cases, remain concerned, it is observed that to see the real panorama that prevails in Greece, we must wait the next few days.
The member of the infectious diseases committee, Charalambos Gogos, explained that it is positive that we avoided the exponential increase, which many feared and stabilized at about 200 new cases per day, but added that “it takes time for the measures to bear fruit.”
“It will take a month to have a more complete picture, before we enter the difficult and painful period of winter and closed gatherings, which will be a problem,” he emphasized.

New measures if there is a new outbreak of cases
Cases may be declining, but there is no complacency in either the government or the scientific team.

The increase in hospitalizations is problematic

In recent days, moreover, there is a small but steady increase in the number of severe cases requiring intensive care and intubation.
“Until about two weeks ago we had positive cases, but they did not need hospitalization. Since then, the Covid beds have been gradually filling up. “These are people who have arrived late to the hospital, a fact that opens the risk of transmission to their contacts,” said the EKPA professor of pulmonology, Paraskevi Katsaounou, in statements to “Vima tis Kyriakis.”
