Giannis Lagos’ decision to choose Holocaust denier and former partner of Nikos Michaloliakos, Konstantinos Plevris, to represent him at the Golden Dawn trial does not make us fall from the clouds.

Who is Konstantinos Plevris?
This is the founder of “August 4”, a small group led by Dimitrios Dimopoulos that was associated with members of EKOF and EREN.
Dimopoulos’s notes had revealed details about the composition of the group that were said to recall the structure of Golden Dawn. According to them, the Augustinian Quarter was organized with a military structure and “iron discipline” under nuclear leaders, team leaders, sector leaders and phalanxes, and had its “moral supporter” Konstantinos Maniadakis, a soldier with a leading role in the dictatorial regime of John the baptist.
In January 1965 he published his book “Anti-Democrat” in which he supported his own variant of National Socialism, covered behind the anti-parliamentarianism of Metaxas and the anti-communism of the civil war.
On August 4, 1965, the first issue of the organization’s newspaper was published, claiming that it promoted “racial ideas” and aimed at abolishing democratic ideas.
Far-right attack and arrest
In December 1976, the far right attacked journalists at the funeral of the junta torturer Mallios. Plevris was arrested for the fact, however, as he had reported, he managed to avoid prosecution against him by misleading journalists through his informants in reports in which the decision was made based on the case.
In 1977, Plevris was tried as the moral author of the actions of the neo-fascist Aristotle Kalentzis, arrested in February on the terrorist charge and sentenced to twelve years in prison, while Plevris was acquitted.
After his conviction, Kalentzis accused Plevris of turning him over to the KYP. Specifically, he had described him as “KYP idiots”, “silver hustler”, “pentara idiots”, “marked ruffian”.
He published Plevris’s testimony to the investigator where he stated that in October 1976 he had submitted a report to the police that Kalentzis along with Michaloliakos and others. they had formed a group to carry out illegal activities.
