According to the survey data, Andreas Loverdos is chosen first for the leadership of KINAL with 20.6%, followed by Fofi Gennimata with 17.6% and Nikos Androulakis with 13.4%. They are followed by Pavlos Geroulanos with 5.2%, George Kaminis with 3.6% and Eva Kailis with 3.2%, while 13.2% said “Others”.
The truth is that some are playing against Fofi Gennimata and others are moving in silence. The whole debate is fueled by the identity characteristics that the new Movement for Change should have from the results that will emerge from an imminent electoral contest that will take place – I remind you – with a simple analogy.
On this canvas several camps have been created in KIN.AL. The Fofi Gennimata camp remains firmly oriented towards the Center and does not want collaborations and convergences neither with New Democracy nor, of course, with SYRIZA.
The right block of KIN.AL.
Andreas Loverdos is considered one of the sure contenders for power in Charilaou Trikoupi whose relationships with Ms. Gennimata are clearly on the tightrope.
According to those in the know, Mr. Loverdos has told Ms. Gennimata his intention to be a candidate for the presidency of the Movement for Change and has started to play a “game” in that direction. He is already organizing himself locally in the large districts and in the province, stating that he is ready to make the party great again. Of course Executives from the Fofi environment believe that the Loverdos movement has elements of coherence with the “right wing” within KIN.AL. In other words, the bloc that would not see a possible collaboration with Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s New Democracy with a bad eye.
On the other hand, without the drums of Loverdos, Nikos Androulakis also moves calmly, since he has several mechanisms in the nomenclature of the party. Like Loverdos, Androulakis does not have the best relations with the current president.

The role of GAP and the flirtation with SYRIZA
Of course, in the aforementioned race, the attitude of the former PASOK president, George Papandreou, will play a fundamental role, who, although estranged, never left the party. The difference is that George Papandreou would like the party of the left and therefore I would appreciate any synergy with SYRIZA by Alexis Tsipras, without of course PASOK being completely “hated”.
Of course, it is not ruled out that when the time comes for other independent candidates to appear, such as Pavlos Geroulanos, who does not seem to be playing with any of the above “factions”. In any event, the entire system appears to be pushing Fofi for a leadership change before the summer of 2021 in order to anticipate the snap elections they place in the fall of 2021.
