North Korea is again at the center of world interest, as information about the fate of the country’s top leader, Kim Jong-un, is confusing.
Dead or alive, Kim Jong-un and his ancestors have managed to make the Asian country one of the world’s toughest and most closed regimes, if not the harshest.
Photographer Eric Lafforgue has traveled to North Korea six times in total. After the sixth, he was banned from visiting the country as he managed to “take” photos of North Korea and publish them.
He and the website Bored Panda published the amazing photos, which show everyday life in North Korea and all the restrictions.
“I was not allowed to take photos of any uniform. But I managed to get several.” Every time I was allowed to go somewhere, to a new area, I would photograph it, “said Eric.
In 2012, after his sixth visit there, several photos were posted. North Korean authorities contacted him and asked him to delete them immediately. Eric refused and, of course, never traveled to the country again, as he was banned from entering.
