The full text is as follows:
“We condemn the authoritarian decision of the government to prohibit the celebration of November 17. The decision of the Head of the Hellenic Police, which prohibits public gatherings of more than three people throughout the country for four days, under threat of high fines. of a deeply undemocratic and unconstitutional decision, as pointed out by the Union of Judges and Prosecutors, since it violates the core of the constitutional right to assembly (article 11). However, this general prohibition is imposed only in circumstances of state of siege (article 48 of the Constitution) and under strictly limited and limited conditions, and in no way can it be justified for reasons of protection of public health. Bodies of the labor and popular movement have demonstrated in practice that they mobilize taking all necessary protection measures. It is even covered by the reactionary law on demonstrations, which explicitly excludes that demonstrations d May 1st and November 17th are announced, prohibited or restricted. Democratic rights and popular freedoms are a conquest of the workers’ and popular movement.
