Japanese robot kills the crown with ultraviolet radiation in just two minutes | World

A Japanese robot automatically disinfects hospitals and other areas, destroying the SARS-CoV-2 crown in just two minutes, using ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Terumo’s LightStrike robot emits ultraviolet light at a wavelength of 200 to 315 nanometers, which disinfects beds, knobs, and other surfaces. After two or three minutes of irradiation, the pathogenic microorganisms are sufficiently damaged to be inactivated or destroyed.

The technology has been successfully tested against resistant bacteria, including the Ebola virus, and now the US company Xenex Disinfection Services has announced that it has tested the robot with equal success against the new crown, according to the Financial Times.

Robot disinfection has been shown to be 99.99% effective in removing the crown from N95 medical masks, which are lacking internationally. Many hospitals around the world have shown interest in the robot, which costs around $ 140,000.
