C. Call center for information and attention to victims

A call center with ten lines will operate in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport as of today, Wednesday, September 23, for information and attention to the victims.

D. Flood protection and protection projects amounting to € 39 million in Thessaly and € 40 million in Fthiotida

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has launched a program of urgent works, with a budget of 350 million euros, for the protection against floods of the areas near the roads, which were carried out under concession contracts.

Within the framework of this program, the concessionaire of the E65 motorway in Central Greece (ie the Central Highway) will start projects worth € 39 million in the Karditsa and Trikala area in the next period.

These projects specifically refer to:

  • In the arrangement of the Kalentzis river in a length of 16 km and the Collector III.2 (southwest of the city of Karditsa), with a total budget of about 16 million euros.
  • In the settlement of the Italian river (20 km long) and the two ditches (six and two km long), which provide it, until its contribution with Pinios, with an approximate budget of 5.6 million euros.
  • In flood protection works in the Pamisos River, a budget of 17 million euros. In particular, these are works in the last seven km to its estuary in Pinios, starting from Mouzaki.
  • Likewise, in the Fthiotida area, interventions will be carried out on the Sperchio river, for an amount of 18 million euros. In addition, in the Sperchio area, ERGOSE will carry out flood protection works, amounting to 21 million euros, on the sections of the highway with the new railway line.

E. As of today, the normal Athens-Thessaloniki train routes

Victims in Kefallinia, Ithaca, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Karditsa, Magnesia, Fthiotida, Corinth and Farsala are exempt from the obligation to pay fees in cases of replacement driving licenses that were lost or destroyed in the recent floods.

Likewise, the definitive elimination from the Registry of IX cars that were destroyed by “Ianos” is allowed, without the obligation to present them to a recycling company.

In particular, with a circular from the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis, the victims will be able to replace the driving licenses that were lost or destroyed on September 18 and 19, without paying fees.

In particular, the catastrophic floods caused by the Mediterranean cyclone “Ianos” caused the destruction / loss of citizens’ driving licenses in the following regional units:

Zakynthos, Ithaca, Kefallinia and Lefkada of the Ionian Islands region
Corinth in the Peloponnese region of Karditsa and Magnesia and in the Farsala municipality of PE Larissa, the Thessaly Fthiotida region of the central Greece region

For the replacement of damaged or lost driving licenses, the supporting documents mentioned in Article 9 (2) “Issuance of a copy of the driving license of a Greek or EU Member State” will be submitted. of ua 50984/7947/2013 (BD ​​3056), except those related to fees.

The exemption from the payment of fees requires the presentation to the competent Transport and Communications Service, in addition to a declaration of loss or destruction of the driver’s license form at a Police Station, which is required to have been presented to the Police Department no later than 31 October 2020..

Requests for replacement of lost or damaged driver’s license forms can be submitted until December 31, 2020 at the latest.

Another circular signed by Mr. Kefalogiannis, stipulates that private use vehicles (IX), regardless of displacement, which were destroyed on specific days in specific regions, can be removed from the Vehicle License Register within a period of three months from today. from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, without the presentation of the Certificate of destruction of the vehicle of an alternative management system of pd 116/2004 (A ’81) and without the payment of any cancellation fee.

The corresponding request, which indicates the reason for which the definitive removal of the vehicle is requested, is presented by the owner of the vehicle or a first degree relative to any Transport and Communications Service of the Regional Units, accompanied by the supporting documents that are specified in the circular.
