Surveillance cameras recorded a dramatic scene when a man in Florida, USA, chased an alligator underwater to save his 3-month-old cub from the jaws of the wild animal.
Richard Wilbank, 74, opened the crocodile’s jaws to free the little Gunner, who miraculously was not injured by the bite.
“We were walking on the lake and the alligator came out of the water like a rocket. I never thought an alligator could be so fast. It was so fast,” the 74-year-old told CNN.
“Holding the alligator was not that difficult, but opening the jaws was extremely difficult,” he said.
The man said his hands were badly injured and he needed to see a doctor to get tetanus serum.
