The Almyros ring road was heavily damaged by the Mediterranean cyclone “Ianos”.
As you can see in the video below, a large part of the road no longer exists, as it was washed away by the Xiria torrent.
The inhabitants, with the first light of day, saw images of Biblical destruction in the wider area. The passage of “Ianos” was catastrophic, as roads were cut in half, lighting columns collapsed, properties suffered incalculable damage and networks were destroyed. 
It is noted that in the dramatic situation that occurred due to the bad weather “Ianos”, there was good news, since the three people who were in danger from the rapid waters of Almyros were released in the early hours of Saturday.
The three workers, after an eight-hour operation by EMAK forces, managed to get out of the torrential waters of the Xiria torrent.
The three workers were at a construction site, in the Xiria reservoir, and sadly they slowly realized the danger, so they were trapped.
