Day 32 Happy Easter (ours is today, a week before the Greek). Today we have got up in the morning and my husband is preparing the barbecue. Today we are baking, and we are definitely having a good time!
Everything will be very formal, as if we were in a restaurant!
An old woman who lives near us will come to eat with us. She is alone. No one should be the only sign. I don’t want her to go through this alone, her children are in Milan.
Juventus chocolate eggs will open in a few minutes and my son will find a surprise inside! Then he will help his dad.
Perhaps in 10 days we will return to the city from where we are, to the mountain. But I still don’t know when. I am on the porch and I am writing, the atmosphere is very pleasant: the church bells ring loudly and the birds sing. It is Easter, even with snow on the peaks.
Unfortunately, the bookstores in Lombardy will not open on Tuesday, as announced, the risk is not considered to have passed. We will read the stories we have at home.
I just got a call from a friend and colleague who was going to work. I miss him, he said he hopes that today’s Resurrection will apply to everyone, we deserve it. All of my friends who have been living in the city for the past few days have only been queuing up to buy food, but thankfully not here, I keep saying that we are the lucky ones in this situation.
Truth be told, I’m a little scared about the future. I am sure we will divide the time into pre-Covid and post-Covid.
Now, uncertainty is the most terrifying of all. And I am very sad because I probably will not come to Greece this summer.
I have to stop writing, the cake is ready!
Happy Easter
