Within a week, and except for a shocking surprise, not after Friday, the government is expected to implement the plan for a general lockdown.
According to information from Huffpost, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is already receiving relevant suggestions from the Infectious Diseases / Epidemiologists Committee, as the latest data is being carefully evaluated, leading to the conclusion that the pressure on the National System of Health is constantly increasing.
The main fact that the committee members point to the Prime Minister and the political leadership of the Ministry of Health is related to the degree of occupation of the Intensive Care Units, since the resistance of the system depends practically on its adequacy.
The same sources confirm that there is an increase in the number of patients admitted and who need admission to the ICU, and in Attica. As a result and ahead of concern about growing occupation, the application of the lock is considered immediately. The time has not been chosen for the moment, however it is almost certain that we are already counting down and the pertinent instructions will be given from the Palace of the Maxims directly to the ministries involved.
At the same time, the increase in the so-called positivity of the tests at a rate that reaches 10% at the national level is evaluated as a particularly worrying element, while Athens remains in an open line with the rest of European capitals to co-configure the strategy on the pandemic front. It should be noted that in most European capitals the blockade or similarly strict measures have already been imposed.
It is estimated that the duration of the confinement is not less than 15-20 days.
