A 21-year-old man from Massachusetts learned on his 21st birthday that his late father left his sister a $ 10 bill to buy her first legal beer. So he celebrated by toasting his father, who passed away six years ago. The moving story immediately went viral on social media.
“Almost 6 years before my dad died, he gave my sister this $ 10 bill to give me on my 21st birthday, so that he would be the one to pour me my first beer, cheers dad, this is it! for you!” Matt Goodman wrote on Twitter and posted a photo of himself drinking the frosted mug.
His father died of cancer in 2014 and he had no idea that he had instructed his sister Casey and his mother to keep the whole plan a secret until his birthday, a milestone.
So the son was moved when he was handed an envelope last week. “My sister explained the background to me and basically everything, and then it became a very emotional moment and [εγώ] “I started crying,” Goldman told CBS Boston. “He and my dad were so close, and it was hard for my dad not to be there for his birthday,” she said of her brother. It was as if our father had predicted that his son would want to drink with him on his 21st birthday, he added.
