The beginning of the end of the pandemic marks the beginning of vaccination in our country.
At 1:00 p.m., the first person in our country was vaccinated. This is Efstathia Kampisiouli, an ICU nurse at Evangelismos Hospital, where the vaccination takes place.
“I think a lot of people are jealous of me today because they would like to be in my place” was the phrase Ms. Kampisiouli used to describe her feelings.
“This is a very symbolic move, as doctors and nurses have been on the front lines since the beginning of the pandemic,” the first man in the country to be vaccinated told ERT.
As for how she was selected, she said that she is on the front lines of the fight against the coronavirus, however she does not know by what criteria she was chosen to have this honor.
At 1:30 p.m., the second person in Greece was vaccinated. This is Michalis Giovanidis, 88, a guest in a Care Unit for the Elderly.
