Shortly after 12 noon, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, made statements on the evolution of bad weather, highlighting that we will have a difficult night.
A person, probably a woman, is missing in Mouzaki, Karditsa, when the car he was driving was washed away by the rushing waters of the river that had been flooded by the strong storm, he said. As he mentioned, titanic efforts are being made to locate her, while he stressed that the operation is underway to free three people in the Almyros area.
He thanked the men of the Fire Brigade and the rescue teams that since the morning released dozens of our fellow citizens in various areas affected by bad weather,
It is observed that the firefighters intervened, only in the Karditsa area, to free 85 people, 4 in Mouzaki and 4 in Sofades.
Mr Hardals, who recently left the meeting held at the Civil Protection Operations Center, said that the night will be extremely difficult with large volumes of water in Central Greece, Evia, Boeotia and Messinia.
He also said that the phenomenon is shown in some models to weaken but cannot be predicted at the moment and the data will be re-evaluated at a new technical meeting at 08:30 tomorrow morning.
