The Infectious Diseases Committee receives threatening messages and emails about the measures taken in connection with the recent closure, according to Professor of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the University of Thessaly and committee member Christos Hadjichristodoulou.

Speaking to ERT, Mr. Hadjichristodoulou stated that threatening messages have a surname and an anonymous character.

Some of the measures will be maintained in January

Regarding the evolution of the pandemic, Mr. Hadjichristodoulou said that we now see light at the end of the tunnel, however he pointed out that some of the measures will be maintained in December and January.

When asked if we will have a mini lockdown for January, the professor spoke of the strict implementation of the measures.

When will the vaccination start?

Vaccination is expected at the beginning of the year, but even then protective measures must be observed with religious reverence, said Mr. Hadjichristodoulou. We are waiting for the vaccine like a mother from heaven, the professor characteristically emphasized.

Finally, regarding the measures for the anniversary of the Polytechnic, Mr. Hadjichristodoulou indicated that they were necessary for the protection of public health, while describing the reactions of the parties as excessive. “No one is going to deprive us of our freedoms,” he said.
