The Greek team may not have managed to rise through the ranks in the Nations League and claim a World Cup spot since the playoffs, but they made a profit through… Bosnia.

How did this happen; Italy’s 2-0 victory over Bosnia, combined with our representative team’s draw with Slovenia, gave it a place in the third capacity group in the draw to take place on 7 December, for the World Cup qualifiers.

With this defeat, Bosnia fell to the fourth group and thus gave Greece a chance to have more passable opponents in the draw. Of the qualifiers, those who finish first of the 10 groups will advance to the final phase of Qatar.

The other six pairs will come out of the eliminatory matches that will give the 10 runners-up with the two teams that will come out of the Nations League playoffs, with the matches played between March 24 and 29, 2022.
