The mobilization has been enormous since 8 in the morning in Dikorfo, Zagori, when the first information arrived that a hunter in the area found remains of the training plane.
In Dikorfo, according to epiruspost.gr, there is a strong force of the Police, EMAK, Army and Civil Protection, while a Canader-type aircraft is also participating in the investigation. According to ERT, the investigations are focused on the Kavalari area, between Dikorfos and Elati.
The weather conditions are excellent and they are the Authorities’ greatest ally in the investigation.
However, the information is being verified to locate the aircraft, since the hunter who claimed to have found the remains has not had any contact with the authorities since he gave the first information.
The point will be thoroughly reviewed, while at the same time the research is evolving in other areas of Zagori.
Strong forces are involved in the search for the aircraft.
The Fire Department forces continue to operate with 45 Firefighters and 20 vehicles as follows:
• 31 Firefighters with 13 vehicles from the Ioannina PEPYD as well as from the Firefighters: 1st PS. Ioannina, PY Artas, PY Igoumenitsa, PK Miliotadon and PK Metsovo,
• 12 Firefighters with six (6) vehicles from the Mountaineering Search and Rescue Teams (OOED) of the 2nd, 5th and 8th EMAK, as well as
• Two (2) Firefighters with a special tracked vehicle to search the snowy areas of the area.
At the same time, the following have been mobilized:
• One (1) Super Puma aircraft, one (1) Sikorsky (S-55) aircraft, one (1) C-130 aircraft and one (1) Air Force CL-415 aircraft
• two (2) groups of pedestrians from the ES.
• strong ELAS force

• Volunteers
It is recalled that the aircraft departed on January 31 from Kozani to Ioannina, from where it was supposed to communicate via radio. However, its location was lost at the height of Drakolimni, near the village of Milliotades in Zagori, at a distance of 5-7 miles NE of Ioannina.
According to local media, the pilot of the aircraft was Amar Ibrahim, a trained pilot from Iraq. He is one of approximately 100 Iraqi trainees currently living in the city of Kozani, who made his first solo flight without a passenger on July 28, 2020.
