Golden Dawn trial: warrant executed – prison warrants ready

[ad_1]

Those convicted in the Golden Dawn case will be taken to prison, as prisons are ready for all those whose court ruled that their appeal should not have suspensive effect.

However, due to the measures to prevent the coronavirus, according to sources from the Prosecutor’s Office, the usual procedure of transfer to the Prosecutor’s Office for the execution of sentences in the Court of Appeals is not expected to be followed.

According to the information, most of the detainees will be transferred to the Domokou prison, while the rest will be transferred to the Malandrino and Trikala prison.

The “immediate evaluation” court order will not be fully applied at this time, as for two names of those sentenced to prison, the “direct” order ordered by the court does not appear to apply. Giannis Lagos MEP, for whom a judicial process through the European Parliament is required, and Christos Pappas, who “chose” not to appear, according to his lawyer, will not be among those who will be jailed today.

Lagos files an appeal

At the same time, Giannis Lagos filed an appeal through his lawyer to present the appeal to the legal committee of the European Parliament to request that the process of lifting his immunity not be initiated.

The extract of the decision regarding Giannis Lagos is sent on the day through the Office of the Supreme Court Prosecutor to the European Parliament.

Foul Christos Pappas

Christos Pappas is now considered wanted and all the Services involved have made the location of the senior fugitive executive and former member of the Golden Dawn MP a first priority.

According to Mega, after the end of the period of preventive detention of the Golden Dawn executives, Christos Pappas had to go to the police station three times a month and spend the night at his home.

In 2015 the restrictive term changed with his mandatory presence at the police station every first of the month. Mr. Pappas appeared on October 1 and then, taking advantage of the removal of the above conditions, escaped, for which he was wanted by the Greek police. It seems impossible that the scene has escaped abroad, but in any case some critical questions will have to be answered.

Why was Christos Pappas not watched, although an important member of the Golden Dawn and indeed by the “tough” criminal organization?

Why did the Police say for two weeks that they have a specific surveillance plan for the Chrysaugites and that they are monitoring them closely until the court decision is issued?

Why were there no police under Pappas’s house or why did no one know where he was for 22 days?

If he had not given any signs of life since October 1, why did no one inform the competent judicial authorities that a defendant is missing, and indeed a case of historical importance?

He had decided

According to Pappas’s lawyer, Periklis Stavrianakis, the deputy director of the criminal organization had long ago decided not to appear, considering that he was not being treated fairly.

He even stated in conversations he had with his lawyer that he had decided not to appear because he believed that he should be released until the second instance trial. He argued that since the first trial lasted 5.5 years, he should not have been in prison because the Court of Appeals could have reduced his sentence, for which he would have been unjustly detained.

The 39 convicts for whom the court ruled should not remain free (alphabetically) are:

Ioannis’ Aggos, Agriogiannis Dimitrios, Anadiotis Anastasios, Nikolaos Apostolou, Germenis Georgios, Gregos Antonios, Eugenikos Markos, Zisimopoulos Polyvios, Iliopoulos Panagiotis, Kazantzoglou Ioannis, Kalaritis Elpidokoros, Kasimia Dionkashalosola Mycloshalosmii-poulosasalosolia, Nikolaoshalosmije Myopougasoliosolia Constantinople, Nikolaoshalosmije Mkastasalosolia, Nikolaoshachioshakoshalosmi Panagiotarea Elias, Pantazis Anastasios Papavasileiou Nikolaos Pappas Christos Patelis George Popori Venice Roupakias George Siatounis Nikolaos Stampelos Christ George Stergiop Stratos Athanasios, Tsakanikas Georgios, Tsalikis Leon, Tsorvas Athanasios, Tsorvas Nikolaos and Chrysafitis Aristotelis.

Almost all have been in preventive detention, others have completed 18 months of temporary detention, others with fewer months of preventive detention. George Roupakias has a temporary detention period of a total of 30 months, while Giannis Lagos has a total of almost 20 months, since after 18 months he had returned to prison for approximately 2 months.
