Golden Dawn conviction: Elias Kasidiaris surrendered to authorities

Five of those convicted of Golden Dawn have appeared before police in their area so far, following a court ruling not to suspend most of their sentences.

This is Ilias Kasidiaris, who immediately after the announcement of the decision was presented to the Rafina police station, George Patelis and Giannis Kazantzoglou, who were handed over to the police station in their area in Nikaia, George Tsakanikas, to the Sub-Directorate of Southeast Attica Security and Markos Eugenikos in Α.Τ. Another ten were detained by police forces in the courts, where they had come pending the decision and will be transferred directly to the Department of Transfers from where they will be transferred to prison.

All those convicted, who will be imprisoned by decision of the Trinitarian Criminal Appeal Court, whether they are surrendered or detained, will be transferred to GADA, where a special place has been set up for their detention on the 7th floor and then to the Directorate of Criminology. for their marking and to the prosecutor for the execution of sentences in the Court of Appeal, who will also designate the penitentiary center where all will be detained.

Immediately afterwards they will be transferred to the Department of Transfers for their transfer to the prisons.

According to reliable information, the leading group, except for unforeseen circumstances, will be transferred to the Domokou prison, while the rest will be distributed in the same prisons as well as in the Malandrinos and Trikala detention centers, unless the decisions of the competent prosecutor are different .

However, as stated by a competent agent of the Hellenic Police, Security is ready to proceed with the execution of the arrests and the processing of the proceedings.

For this, 20 detention groups have been set up, which are located in the places where the convicted are found, so that if they do not come forward voluntarily, they can proceed with the arrests.

This process will take several hours as there must be a prosecutor for each arrest, as most are at home.

In prison, all convicts will be quarantined for 14 days due to Covid-19, in specially designed areas and then in their cells.

It is noted that they are expected not to come into contact with other detainees, but also with each other who are in conflict, for security reasons.
