The permanent reopening of school units primary education (kindergartens and primary schools), as well as school units of special education and training since Monday 11/01/2021, officially announced the Ministry of Education, following the relevant suggestion of the committee of specialists in infectious diseases.
The Minister of Education, Niki KerameosAmong other things, he stated: “Current conditions allow us to gradually start opening our schools, based on the suggestion of specialists and with the first step the nurseries and primary schools, given the special social and psycho-emotional needs of our young students , as well as continuation of the live performance of our special schools. “
The positive signal was preceded by the committee, during the meeting that took place on Monday afternoon.
The teleconference discussed the security measures under which the operation of the school units will be carried out. The performance was examined sampling tests and to primary education (to students and teachers), as well as the graduated attendance schedule of students in schools.
As for the rest of the levels, the priority is DG Lyceum, which is expected to be the next class to return to the corridors. Decisions for middle, middle, and high schools are expected to be made when epidemiological data are reviewed.
The announcement of the Ministry of Education
Following a positive recommendation from the Committee of Experts, the Ministry of Education and Religions announces the lifetime reopening of primary schools (kindergartens and primary schools) as of Monday 11/1/2021.
The continuation of the live operation of the special education and training units at all levels is also announced from the same date.
Teachers serving the above schools are invited to begin service on Friday, August 1, 2021 (there will be no distance learning in elementary education on August 1, 2021).
Relative to the gyms and Institute, start distance learning on Friday 8/1/2021 and its lifetime reopening will be considered in the near future.
For the reopening of kindergartens and elementary schools for life, additional measures will be taken to prevent coronavirus in relation to two main issues:
– The coexistence of parents, guardians and others who accompany children to kindergartens and primary schools. The forecast will now be available:
- for differentiated arrival and departure times, by department groups when possible and necessary (except in cases of mass transfer of students),
- for the use of more than one school unit entrance, when available.
– Additional preventive measures for teachers. A special platform has already been launched through which teachers will be able to request a free test for coronavirus and will be informed about their appointment by SMS for the closest of the 386 checkpoints throughout Greece.
It is observed that this measure is voluntary for teachers and purely preventive in terms of the epidemiological picture in schools. Detailed instructions on the operation of the platform will be issued.
At the same time, all the precautionary measures already taken and the EODY instructions remain in force, such as the mandatory use of a mask indoors and outdoors, the use of antiseptics, thorough cleaning, special measures for the proper functioning of dining rooms, computer labs, musical instruments and .ά., and of course the sampling controls by EODY.
It is noted that it will be released within the week specific reduction in the material of the courses examined at the national level of the 3rd Lyceum.
