Incredible tragedy on Crete’s road network

An incredible tragedy was registered once again on the Cretan road network, as a fatal car accident occurred shortly after 5 pm in Moires.

Specifically, at 5:28 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred between two vehicles, a car in which the mother and daughter were traveling, and an oil truck at the Faneromeni-France crossing.

A 38-year-old mother, who was a police officer at the Pyrgos police station and her only 2-year-old daughter, lost her life.


Two EKAB ambulances immediately arrived and transferred the woman and child to the Miron Health Center, where they were pronounced dead.


An EKAB ambulance transported the two foreigners in the second agricultural vehicle to KY, where it was decided that they should be transported to the Venizelio Hospital in Heraklion. The causes of the accident are being investigated.

According to the same information, the unfortunate woman was the mother of two children, while her husband is on commission outside of Crete and more specifically on the island of Kos.
